WASHINGTON, D.C. - Freshman Bri Betz-White and junior Diana Logan combined for over half of the Loyola University Maryland women's basketball team's points, but the Greyhounds fell to the Georgetown Hoyas, 71-44, on Wednesday night in McDonough Arena.

Seven of the Greyhounds' first 13 points were tallied from the free-throw line, including six-straight during a three-minute time span. Logan capped off the charity stripe success, sinking a basket from behind the arc with just over three minutes remaining in the first half, but the Greyhounds trailed Georgetown, 28-16.

Loyola continued to find success on the heels of the Hoyas' foul misfortunes, as the Greyhounds closed out the first stanza with six additional points, including four from the charity stripe, to trail Georgetown 35-22 at the half.

The Greyhounds came back from the locker room and knocked down two-straight 3-point field goals by Lisa Mirarchi and Logan. Wednesday's midweek matchup marked the third-consecutive contest Logan made two shots from behind the arc.

Betz-White scored the team's next six points over a three-minute period. The freshman guard scored a lone-point from the free-throw line, a three-point field goal and a jumper off Mirarchi's offensive rebound second earlier to move the score to 64-39, in favor of Georgetown.

The Greyhounds capitalized on Georgetown's ball mishandling, scoring off the Hoyas' turnover. Junior Colleen Marshall collected paint points, 64-41, with just over five minutes remaining in regulation.

Rookies Karley Kolberg and Carly Monzo finished out the match, scoring the final baskets of the game for the Greyhounds. The two freshmen combined for three points and four rebounds.

Senior Steph Smith grabbed a team-best and tied for a game-high 10 rebounds. Defensively, the veteran forward was strong accumulating two blocks and two steals.

Loyola returns to action on Monday, Nov. 24, taking on the University of Maryland, a 2014 Final Four participant, at 7 p.m., in College Park, Maryland.
