GREENVILLE, N.C. - Loyola University Maryland had three players with double-digit points, despite a 68-47 decision at East Carolina University on Sunday afternoon.

For the third-consecutive week, junior Nai Brown led the Greyhounds’ offense with 11 points, while senior Nicole Krusen and sophomore Tiffany Padgett each recorded 10.

East Carolina (4-0 overall) controlled the lead for the entire second half, despite a 6-0 run by Loyola (0-3 overall) going into the locker room.

The Pirates pulled out by 27, their largest lead of the contest, with less than four minutes remaining in regulation, but a trio of free throws by Krusen and Kara Marshall sent the score to 65-41.  Brown contributed Loyola’s final five points, which ended the first matchup between the two programs.

In the second half alone, Loyola recorded a 10-4 point advantage off turnovers, while the Pirates shot a game-high 39-percent from the field.

Jada Payne led all scorers with 26 points, shooting 5-6 from behind the arc and connecting on 100-percent of her free throw attempts.

In the first half Padgett and Marshall combined for 14 of the Greyhounds 21 points. The duo shot a combined 56-percent from the floor, making two of five three-point field goal attempts.

Krusen connected on a baseline shot from downtown to cap Loyola's, 6-0, run at the end of the first half.

Sophomore Jeneh Perry grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds, a new career-record for the Chattanooga, Tenn., native.  She also contributed a game-best five steals, another career record shattered by the Greyhound forward.

Loyola return to Reitz Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 20, to face Howard University at 7 o’clock.
