Cobb's basket sparked a 15-2 run for the Greyhounds, cutting the Girffs lead to five, 53-48. Loyola continued to work hard on both ends, chipping away at Canisius' lead before tying the game up at 57 with 8:18 remaining on a basket from Glessner of a steal by Cobb. Loyola took the lead after Troupe hit a free throw and Glessner scored again, this time off a steal by Harrington. Cherrie Wittleib hit two threes for Canisius over the next minute to regain the lead for the Griffs, 63-60. The 'Hounds didn't give up on either end and tied the score again at 66 with 2:44 remaining with a jumper by Cobb. The teams traded the lead again with Loyola holding a 70-68 advantage with 57 seconds remaining. Zak went to the line twice, hitting all four shots, over the last 41 seconds for the win.
