Men's and Women's Tennis Record Wins over Saint Francis (Pa.)

LORETTO, Pa. - Men and women's tennis continued their solid spring debuts Saturday afternoon, in Loretto, Pa., as both teams recorded wins over Saint Francis (Pa.).
The women swept the Red Flash and remain an unbeaten 4-0 this season. The men dropped just two matches to defeat Saint Francis 5-2, and move to 3-1 in 2009-2010.
The women got the Greyhounds off to a strong start by taking all three doubles matches.
At No. 1 doubles, Rachel Janasek and Kerri Swan defeated Samantha Fulchiero and Julianna Gustafson 8-0. Andie Keyser-Baker and Joy Johnson then earned the doubles point for the Loyola with an 8-2 win over Stephanie Rivera and Devynn Sarver in No. 2 doubles. In No. 3 doubles, Scarlett Hoy and Judy Lite won their match against Ashley Zalewski and Breanna Maples, 8-3.
With Loyola up 1-0 coming into singles, Janasek gave the Greyhounds a 2-0 advantage with a win over Fulchiero, defeating her 6-1, 6-2. Swan then won in three sets at No. 2 singles, going 6-1, 5-7, 6-3 over Rivera.

Johnson won the next tilt, defeating Abby Ball 6-4, 6-1. Keyser-Baker got the win in the No. 4 singles match, taking Laura Husband 6-4, 6-2.
Hoy then completely shut out Caitlin Bart, 6-0, 6-0, and Lite finished off the sweep with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Starver.
On the men's side, Saint Francis held the edge early, after Keyan Sanai and J. Pierce Norton fell to Elhan Pogue and Nate Fleming in No. 1 doubles, 8-0.
But Kevin Zingler and Ryan Fitzgerald then picked their teammates up with an 8-4 win over Steve Kawolski and Andres Rosa, and Matt McDaniel and Bobby Gorczakowski earned the doubles point for Loyola by defeating Steve Child and Peter Dietrich 8-6.
Sanai then dueled Pogue in an intense three-set match in No. 1 singles, but fell 6-7 (6), 6-4, 7-6 (5), evening up the score at 1-1.
Norton then gave Loyola back the lead with a 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 win over Child in No. 2 singles. Zingler gave the 'Hounds a 3-1 lead by winning his tilt over Kawolski 6-2, 6-4, and McDaniel pushed the match out of reach for the Red Storm by going 6-4, 6-4 against Rosa.
Gorczakowski and Fitzgerald won the final two tilts. Gorczakowski defeated Fleming 6-2, 6-2, and Fitzgerald notched a 6-3, 6-4 win over Dietrich to cap off the Greyhounds' winning day.
