CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Loyola University Maryland men’s soccer sophomore Larry Ndjock has been named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, as announced by the league office Monday.

Ndjock, also the league’s offensive player of the week on September 9, had a hand in all four of the Greyhounds’ goals in a 1-1 week. The forward scored twice, including the game-winner, and had an assist in Loyola’s 3-1 win over American on Wednesday, leading the Greyhounds to their first-ever Patriot League victory. His assist on junior Connor Thompson’s goal in the 72nd minute marked his 50th career point.

The Berlin, Germany, native followed that up on Saturday by scoring in a 2-1 loss at Navy. His goal in the 87th minute marked just the fourth goal that the Patriot League regular season champions have given up this year. It was also just the fourth score that Gavin Snyder, ranked second nationally in goals-against average, has allowed in the 11 games that he has played this season.

So far this year, Ndjock leads the Patriot League with 11 goals and 23 points. He also ranks second in the NCAA with 0.85 goals per game and sixth with 1.77 points per game.

In addition, with 24 goals in his first two seasons, Ndjock has moved into 14th on Loyola’s NCAA Division I records for career goals. He also ranks 21st in all-time program history and is just the fourth Greyhound under head coach Mark Mettrick to make his way onto the chart.

Loyola will conclude its season on Saturday when it hosts Lafayette in Senior Day. Loyola’s senior class of Stephen Dooley, Zach Kane, Jamie Libby, Diego McQuestion and Thurman Van Riper will be honored in a pregame ceremony. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
