Saramago Named Corvias Patriot League Offensive Player Of The Week
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -
Loyola University Maryland sophomore Brian Saramago has been named the Corvias Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the League office Monday.
A forward from New Hyde Park, New York, Saramago had a seven-point week for the Greyhounds, scoring three goals and adding an assist on a fourth.
In a 4-1 win over American on Wednesday, Saramago connected with classmates Josh Fawole and Barry Sharifi twice, putting away a series of their passes. He then assisted Sam Brown’s goal in the 53rd minute.
At Lehigh, Saramago netted a penalty kick to extend his goal streak to three-straight games.
For the season, Saramago leads the Greyhounds with seven goals and 17 points, while his seven goals and 16 points in conference play rank second in the League.
This marks the fifth career weekly award from the Patriot League for Saramago, as he was a two-time Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week and two-time Patriot League Rookie of the Week.
Loyola will close out its regular season on Saturday when it hosts Lafayette for Senior Day. Matt Bautista and Joe Nichols will be honored prior to the 1 p.m. kickoff.
