The Loyola men's swimming & diving team won 15 individual and relay events as the Greyhounds scored 794.5 points to win their second-consecutive MAAC title.
Tennis Home Openers
The Loyola tennis teams will host Delaware State at 3 p.m. on March 12 in their first home matches of 2010. The Greyhounds then welcome Winston-Salem State (3/13, 3 p.m.) and Mount St. Mary's (3/14, 12 p.m.) to the Butler Courts.

Ridley Athletic Complex
The Ridley Athletic Complex, the Greyhounds' new home for lacrosse and soccer, is slated to open on March 13 when the Loyola men's lacrosse team hosts Duke.

Game Data
Loyola plays its final two regular-season home matches of the 2009 season this weekend when it hosts 22nd-ranked Iona at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 30, and Fairfield on Sunday, November 1 at 1 p.m.
The games are also the final regular-season soccer matches to be played on Diane Geppi-Aikens Field. The Greyhounds will begin play at the Ridley Intercollegiate Athletic Complex next year.
Series Stats
Loyola and Iona will meet for the 26th time on Friday with the Greyhounds holding a 22-2-1 advantage in the all-time series. Fairfield and Loyola will play for the 31st time. The Greyhounds are 24-6-0 all-time against the Stags, and the 30 previous matches are the most against a MAAC opponent.

Friday's game is the Halloween Thriller at Loyola men's soccer. Fans can enter a costume contest for the chance to win a free limousine on Halloween Night from ZBest Limousines. The runner-up in the contest will receive a 50-percent off coupon for the rental of a limousine or party bus.
Jamie Darvill's four-assist weekend - one versus Marist and three against Siena - lifted him to fifth place all-time at Loyola with 27 career assists.
With his next assist, Darvill will move into a three-way tie with Ian Reid (1973-76) and Rob Elliott (1989-91) for third place with 28 assists. The senior forward is just two back of tying Marc Harrison (1992-95) and Stan Koziol (1983-87) for the school record with 29.
Of Great Assistance
Darvill's three assists marked the second time in three games that a Loyola player recorded a trio of helpers. Phil Bannister accomplished the feat on October 16 versus Niagara.
Back-To-Back For Dines & Leitch
Junior midfielders Eddie Dines and Glenn Leitch scored in both Loyola matches last weekend. They each had game-tying goals at Marist - Dines' gave Loyola a 2-2 draw in the 87th minute - and they scored the first two Sunday at Siena.
Leitch is second on the team with five goals this year, while Dines is third with three. All three of Dines' goals, and his one assist this year, have come in the Greyhounds last four matches.
Cracking The Top 10
Jamie Darvill moved into the Top 10 in NCAA Division I in points per game (T-8th, 1.8) and assists per game (T-9th, 0.6). He is also tied for 19th nationally with 0.6 goals per game.
But for missing four games to injury, Phil Bannister would be fourth nationally with 0.727 assists per game. Players must have played in 75-percent of their team's contests to qualify for the national stats, and Bannister has seen action in 11-of-15 (73.3-percent). He does, however, lead the MAAC in that category.
Bannister and Darvill's combined 17 assists this year are the second-most by teammates in the nation behind UMBC's Levi Houapeu (11) and Andrew Bulls (10).
Sharing Strikers
Jamie Darvill assisted on Phil Bannister's late goal Sunday at Siena, marking the 22nd time one has assisted on the other's goal during their two-plus years playing together.
Darvill, who is fifth all-time at Loyola with 27 assists, has recorded the helper 11 times when Bannister has scored, including one earlier this year against Towson. Bannister, who has 23 career assists has 11 on Darvill's goals.
CLASS Final
Loyola senior back Tennant McVea was named one of 10 finalists in NCAA Division I men's soccer for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award, presented to a student-athlete who exemplifies high standards in character, community, competition and the classroom. Before the season began, he was one of 30 candidates for the award, a list that was pared to 10.
Fans can vote for McVea at the Senior CLASS website or by texting M5 to 74567 through November 13. The fan vote will count for one-third of the final ballot with national media and coaches making up the remaining two-thirds.
Loyola University Maryland was the only school to have both a men's and women's soccer student-athlete named finalists this season. Theresa Ferraina is one of 10 finalists on the women's side.
First Team To Score Wins
In 13 of Loyola's games this season - not counting the scoreless tie at Quinnipiac and the 2-2 draw at Marist - the team to score first has been victorious.
Designation Change
As of September 25, 2009, Loyola is officially known as `Loyola University Maryland.' Since its founding in 1852, it was recognized as `Loyola College,' but it was approved for a designation change by the Maryland Higher Education Council, a move that took effect that day.
