Men's Soccer Adds Carlsson, Lussi To Nationally Ranked Incoming Class

June 3, 2016

BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland head men’s soccer coach Steve Nichols has announced the addition of Gabriel Carlsson, a transfer from South Florida, and Morgan Lussi to the Greyhounds’ already impressive and first-ever nationally ranked incoming recruiting class for the 2016 season.

Carlsson, a native of Stockholm, Sweden, brings NCAA Tournament experience to Loyola with him as he started all 20 games throughout his freshman season at South Florida. A midfielder, Carlsson helped the Bulls go undefeated at home in 2015 and climb as high as No. 9 in the national rankings.

Lussi, a midfielder from Lutherville, Maryland, will be one of three players from PDA Academy in the Greyhounds’ first-ever nationally ranked recruiting class.

“We were obviously thrilled to have landed a top-20 recruiting class this spring,” Nichols said. “Adding these two players to the roster for next year is amazing and will help us achieve our ultimate goal of winning a Patriot League title and get back to the NCAA Tournament.”
