Baltimore, Md. -
The Loyola men's and women's soccer teams will participate in the Kicks Against Breast Cancer/Shutout Cancer Tournament this Sunday at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown, Md. The men will face Towson and Georgetown while the women play Old Dominion and Johns Hopkins.
The annual tournament, now in its 10th year, combines the women's Kicks Against Breast Cancer tournament with the Shutout Cancer men's college soccer classic. A full day of soccer competition begins at 9 a.m. with both the Greyhound men (vs. Towson) and women (vs. Old Dominion) in action.
The Loyola men face Georgetown at noon while the women play Johns Hopkins at 1:30 p.m. The tournament concludes with a women's-men's doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m. The University of Virginia women will play the Washington Freedom before the Maryland men face a reserve squad from D.C. United.
Proceeds from the tournament will be split between two 501c3 non-profits that support young adults and families affected by cancer: Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource & Image Center and the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults.
Admission is 10 dollars and is good for every game. Anyone interested making a tax-deductible donation can click on Cancer Benefit Tournament and support the Greyhounds this weekend.
