BALTIMORE - The Loyola University Maryland men's soccer team knocked off Manhattan, 3-0, Sunday afternoon on Senior Day at Ridley Athletic Complex.

The win marks the Greyhounds' seventh-straight, their longest win streak since winning 13-straight in 2008, while they also improve to 12-5-1 this season and 7-1-0 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play. The Jaspers fall to 3-12-1 overall and 2-5-0 in the league.

"It's great that the seniors were able to leave on a winning note at home today," head coach Mark Mettrick said. "They have been dedicated and committed to the program and have put a lot of work in. They have been class acts on and off the field.  It's a core group that has led us this season and they have been key contributors to the season that we're having so far."

The freshman duo of Dominic Marshall and Larry Ndjock combined to give the Greyhounds a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute. Marshall chased a ball down on the end line and sent it back into the box between two defenders where Ndjock drilled a left-footed shot into the back of the net. The goal marks the 13th for Ndjock this year while it is also the fourth-straight game that he has scored in.

Sophomore Connor Thompson added to Loyola's lead in the 67th minute when he snuck a corner kick from senior Kevin Curran into the left side of the goal from about three yards out.

Junior Stephen Dooley then capped off the scoring for the Greyhounds in the 81st minute. Curran played a ball down the left wing to sophomore Joseph Cahalan who crossed it into the box for Dooley to finish.

In goal, junior Thurman Van Riper stopped four shots and combined with senior Zach Kane to help the Greyhounds to their seventh shutout of the year and fourth in MAAC play.

Loyola's six seniors that are expiring their eligibility at the end of this season were honored in a ceremony prior to the start of the game. The group of Hector Arellano, Kevin Curran, Greg DiNardo, Gerwyn Jones, Zach Tweddell and Gary Weisbaum have donned the green and grey through more than 75 matches the last four years and will participate in the upcoming MAAC Tournament for the fourth-straight year.

The Greyhounds will close out their regular season on Friday when they head to Rider for a 7 p.m., contest.
