LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Loyola University Maryland men's soccer team gave up an early goal to Bucknell Wednesday night, and were unable to recover, as the Greyhounds eventually fell to the Bison, 2-0, on Emmitt Field at Holmes Stadium.

Bucknell (7-3-0, 2-1-0 Patriot League) took the early lead in the game by scoring in the seventh minute when Joe Meyers cut through Loyola's defenders and into the middle of the field. From there, he sent a left-footed shot from 18 yards out into the top left corner of the goal.

The Greyhounds (5-4-2, 0-2-1) had a chance for their equalizer late in the second half, but Bison goalkeeper Mike Lansing pushed senior Diego McQuestion's strike off a cross just over the top of the cross bar in the 77th minute.

Meyers then gave the Bison a 2-0 advantage in the 80th minute when he crossed a ball from the right side to Jesse Klug. Senior goalkeeper Zach Kane got a piece of Klug's shot, but the ball trickled over the back line for the goal.

Loyola continued to fight for its first goal, as freshman David Warburton fired a shot at goal in the 82nd minute. Lansing saved the attempt, which rebounded to freshman Ryan Tuck in the box. Tuck quickly headed the rebound into the goal, but was called for being offsides, leading to the final score.

In goal, Kane picked up six saves for the Greyhounds.

Loyola will return home for one game when it hosts Army at Ridley Athletic Complex Saturday at 7 p.m.
