JERSEY CITY, N.J. - Sophomore Geaton Caltabiano notched two goals for the Loyola University Maryland men's soccer team Sunday afternoon and head coach Mark Mettrick earned his 200th career victory as the Greyhounds downed Saint Peter's, 2-0.

With the win, Loyola improves to 7-4-1 this season and 2-2 in the MAAC, while Saint Peter's falls to 3-8 overall and 1-2 in the league.

Under Mettrick, the Greyhounds have posted a 143-68-21 (.661) record throughout the past 12 years, bringing Mettrick's career mark to 200-110-33 (631). He becomes the 45th active coach to hit the 200-win plateau.

Caltabiano got the Greyhounds on the board quicker than any other game this season, sending a cross from sophomore Diego McQuestion into the goal in the 6th minute.

The transfer from George Mason then became the first Greyhound this season to tally multiple goals in the same contest, heading in a cross from classmate Stephen Dooley in the 28th minute.

With the two goals, Caltabiano becomes the first Greyhound to notch multiple scores in a game since Glenn Leitch scored three against Marist last year (Oct. 31).

Defensively, graduate senior Kyle Wittman recorded four saves, three in the second half, to preserve the shutout and mark his sixth blank sheet of the season, second consecutive. He now has 21 shutouts throughout his career and has posted 188 minutes and 43 seconds of consecutive shutout minutes.

For the game, the Greyhounds earned a 10-5 advantage in shots, while Saint Peter's held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Loyola will return to action next weekend, as the Greyhounds host Rider on Saturday. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m., at Ridley Athletic Complex.
