Charlie McDoniel is in his second season as assistant coach with the Loyola College soccer program.

McDoniel is a 2000 graduate of Loyola. He played for the Greyhounds from 1996 to 1999, earning first-team All-MAAC honors at defense in 1999.

A defensive stopper, McDoniel started every game during his junior and senior seasons at Evergreen. From Loyola, he went on to play for the South Jersey Barons in the D3 Professional Division of the United Soccer League.

McDoniel grew up in St. Louis, where he played for Christian Brothers College High School, which was ranked Top-10 nationally his junior and senior seasons. He also played with nationally recognized Busch Soccer Club (now St. Louis Soccer Club) for 12 years.

McDoniel currently works as Director of Athlete Recruitment at Velocity Sports Performance in Baltimore and is working on his Masters of Science in Sports Management at the United States Sports Academy.
