Men's Lacrosse Cottrell, Cullinane Earn ECAC Academic Honor

In order to earn a spot on the team, student-athletes had to maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA through at least four semesters of work and have participated in at least 50 percent of his team's games.
"We're very excited for Brian and Kyle to be named to the All-ECAC Academic Team," said Loyola Head Coach Charley Toomey.
"This is a tremendous credit to how well they perform in the classroom and a testament to their talents on the lacrosse field."
Cullinane is a Graduate Student from Southport, Conn., (Fairfield Prep) who is in the process of earning his MBA from the College. He holds a 3.68 GPA. The defensive midfielder appeared in 13 games this season for the Greyhounds, picking up one groundball and causing a turnover in his final year of eligibility.
In 2008, he scooped a career-high six groundballs to go along with two caused turnovers in 14 games of play.
Cottrell, a rising senior, also maintains a 3.68 GPA with a major in Finance and Economics at Loyola. The Glenwood, Md., native (Glenelg) played in 13 games in 2009, earning a start at defense against Rutgers.
He collected four groundballs and caused three turnovers for 9-5 Loyola, which clinched a share of its second straight ECAC title.
