Loyola Teams Receives APR Recognition From NCAA
May 12, 2010
BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland had the most teams of schools in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference recognized by the NCAA for consistent success in the Academic Progress Rate (APR) program.
Seven Loyola teams were lauded for posting multi-year APRs in the top 10-percent of all squads in each sport.
"This is a credit to the ability of our student-athletes to combine their passion for their sport with excellence in the classroom," said Loyola Director of Athletics Joe Boylan. "It speaks well of our coaches who believe in the Jesuit ideals of developing the total person in mind, body and spirit."
The Loyola men's cross country, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis, women's crew, women's indoor track and field and women's outdoor track and field were all honored by the NCAA.
