BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland men's lacrosse will host the 2014 Patriot League Championships at Ridley Athletic Complex on April 25 and 27 after capturing the conference's regular-season title in its first year since joining the League.
The Greyhounds, who are 11-1 overall and 7-0 in the Patriot League heading into Thursday's game against Bucknell University, will be the Championships' No. 1 seed and play the lowest remaining seed following the Patriot League Quarterfinals that will take place on Tuesday, April 22.
In addition to Loyola clinching the No. 1 seed, the U.S. Military Academy has locked up the No. 2 seed and the other bye to the semifinals. Lehigh University will be the No. 3 seed and host the U.S. Naval Academy, the No. 6 seed, in the quarterfinals. Bucknell and Colgate University will play each other in the other quarterfinal, but their seeds have not yet been determined.
Loyola will play in Friday's first semifinal at 4:30 p.m. against Bucknell, Colgate or Navy. Army will be the higher seeded team in the second semifinal, starting at 7:30 p.m., and play Bucknell, Colgate or Lehigh.
Winners of the two semifinals will meet on Sunday, April 27, in the title game at 1 p.m. at Ridley Athletic Complex. All three games will be televised live on CBS Sports Network.
