Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola men's lacrosse team will have a rare mid-week chance to forget about a Saturday's heartbreak when it hosts Marist at Diane Geppi-Aikens Field. The Greyhounds and Red Foxes meet for the first time on the lacrosse turf and faceoff this Tuesday at 3 p.m. Listen

Both teams are looking for their first win and bring 0-2 records into the contest. Loyola, which has fallen to two ranked teams by two goals each, looks to redeem itself against a Marist team that went 8-0 and won the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) last season.

This season, sophomore Andrew Spack has led the offensive attack, scoring a pair of goals in each of Loyola's two games. Spack, who now has five two-goal games in his career, leads the team with four goals and six points. Senior Matt Monfett, who has four goals this season, matched a career-high with four goals at Penn State last Saturday.

The Greyhound offense rebounded nicely from its opening-day five-goal output and posted 14 goals at Penn State. Loyola has converted on 2-of-6 extra-man opportunities in each of their games and dramatically improved its clearing percentage with 17-of-19 successful clears last Saturday.

Marist is led in scoring by Bill Duerr and his six goals while Mark Paquette has a team-high seven groundballs for the Red Foxes. As a team, Marist is picking up 28.5 groundballs per game while Loyola has 61 in its two contests.

Tuesday's game is one of three mid-week games for Loyola this season and the first of two straight Tuesday afternoon home games. The Greyhounds play at Duke this Saturday before returning home for a three-game homestand to close out March.

The Greyhounds and Red Foxes faceoff at 3 p.m. and can be heard live on www.LoyolaGreyhounds.com.
