Lindley Earns Recognition On USILA Team Of The Week
BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland freshman Kevin Lindley was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Team of the Week on Tuesday after registering 11 goals in two Greyhounds victories last week.
Lindley's week was capped by a record-setting outing against College of the Holy Cross on Sunday when he scored eight goals and had an assist in a 13-5 victory. His eight goals were one off the school record of nine (John Carroll; May 3, 1986; vs. Washington & Lee University) and they set a Patriot League freshman record.
His breakout game came four days after he set his previous career-high with three goals in a 12-8 win over Towson University at Ridley Athletic Complex.
Lindley scored four-straight goals in the first half against Holy Cross to help Loyola open a 7-0 halftime lead, and he added three tallies after the break.
With the eight-goal outing, Lindley moved into the team-lead in goals this season with 13.
Lindley is the second Loyola player to earn USILA Team of the Week honors, a recognition new for the 2018 season. Brian Begley earned mention on February 20 after Loyola's win over Johns Hopkins University.
The Greyhounds are back in action on Saturday, March 10, at 3 p.m. against Duke University.
