CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Loyola University Maryland senior defender Foster Huggins was named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after a strong opening game for the Greyhounds.

Huggins finished with a team-high three caused turnovers and also picked up five groundballs in the season-opener against the University of Virginia. He also had primary marking responsibilities for 2017 USILA All-America Michael Kraus who had just one goal on Saturday.

A three-year starter on close defense, Huggins entered the 2018 season with 61 ground balls and 40 caused turnovers.

The Greyhounds make their 2018 home debut on Saturday, February 17, when they host Johns Hopkins University at 1 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets for the game at LoyolaGreyhounds.com/tickets.
