2009: Established himself as one of the top faceoff specialists in the nation, finishing fourth in NCAA Division I with a .587 faceoff winning percentage... Led the ECAC in the statistical category... Earned All-ECAC Second Team honors... Started 13 games before missing the season finale with an injury... Started the season on the right foot, going 14-of-20 in the season debut against Notre Dame (2/14)... Had a pair of monster games against St. John's (3/14) and Rutgers (4/4)... Won 17of-20 at the X versus the Red Storm, picking up a career-high 11 groundballs... Then, he won 16-of-19 restarts against the Scarlet Knights, helping the Greyhounds to a pair of league victories... Finished second on the team with 76 groundballs and was 19th in NCAA Division I in ground balls per game (5.5)... Recorded three assists, all off faceoff wins.
2008: Played in eight games at the face-off X for the Greyhounds... Won 11-of-18 face-offs (.611)... Scored his first collegiate goal against Hobart (4/26).
Before Loyola: Was a four-year letterwinner in lacrosse at Our Lady of Good Counsel... Served as team captain his senior year... Earned All-Conference First Team, All-Area First Team and Washington Post All-Metro Honorable Mention in 2006... Was an All-Conference Second Team selection in 2005 ... Also captained diving team and played football for two seasons.
Personal: Majoring in information systems at Loyola... Son of Paul and Margaret Schiavone... Has a younger brother, Michael.
