The men's lacrosse team captured its first National Championship, beating Maryland, 9-3, on Monday, May 28.
The Loyola men's lacrosse team defeated Denver, 10-9, in the NCAA Quarterfinals on Saturday, May 19 in Annapolis, Md.
Loyola men's lacrosse defeated Fairfield, 14-7, to win the ECAC Championship.
Loyola hosted Johns Hopkins in front of a sell-out crowd on April 28, 2012.
2011 (Junior):Played in all 13 games on the Greyhounds' second midfield unit... Scored a goal and had an assist along with five ground balls... Tallied a second-half goal at Duke (3/11)... Logged an assist in the ECAC Semifinal game against Fairfield (5/5).
2010 (Sophomore): Saw action on the first and second midfield lines, playing in 13 games and starting four... Scored his first collegiate goal against Hobart (4/24)... Finished the season with four assists, as well... Had the first assist in Ridley Athletic Complex history on a Collin Finnerty goal against Duke (3/13).
2009 (Freshman): Played in 12 games during his freshman season... Collected five groundballs on the year, two coming against Towson (2/21), and took six shots.
Before Loyola: At Seton Hall Prep, Brynes scored 28 goals and recorded 14 assists as a senior in 2008... Earned All-Fitch Division First Team honors, as well as All-Iron Hills Conference First Team and All-New Jersey Honorable Mention... Team captain as a senior, helping the Pirates to a 13-4 overall record.
Personal: Son of Gerry and Patricia Byrnes... Has one brother, Gerry, and two sisters, Katherine and Caroline.
