The men's lacrosse team captured its first National Championship, beating Maryland, 9-3, on Monday, May 28.
Loyola defeated Canisius, 17-5, in the NCAA First Round on Saturday, May 12, 2012.
Loyola men's lacrosse defeated Fairfield, 14-7, to win the ECAC Championship.
Loyola hosted Johns Hopkins in front of a sell-out crowd on April 28, 2012.
Loyola men's lacrosse defeated Georgetown, 11-6, on March 21, 2012.
2011 (Junior): Appeared in 12 games, picking up 13 ground balls and causing five turnovers... Had season-high four ground balls and three caused turnovers against Air Force (3/19).
2010 (Sophomore): Played in all 14 games as a long-stick midfielder... Picked up 18 ground balls and caused eight turnovers... Also had two assists... Assisted on a goal in transition against Notre Dame (3/6) and again versus Georgetown (4/17)... Picked up three groundballs against the Hoyas and Fairfield (4/10).
2009 (Freshman): Long-stick midfielder saw action in four games... Made his college debut in the season-opener against Notre Dame (2/14)... Scooped up his first career ground ball against Bryant (3/10).
Before Loyola: Three year letterman for Boys' Latin School in lacrosse... Member of the 2006 national championship team... Four-year starter at receiver and safety for the football squad, earned All-Metro honors... Played one year of lacrosse at Salisbury School in Connecticut, earning Founders' League Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Personal: Son of Pat and Lynn Moriarty...has two sisters, Laura and Katherine.
