Loyola University Maryland men's lacrosse defeated Bucknell University, 7-6, in double-overtime on Friday, April 29, 2016, in the Patriot League Semifinals.
Loyola University Maryland men's lacrosse got a goal from Zach Herreweyers with 9.9 seconds left in regulation to beat Boston University, 13-12, on Saturday, April 16, at Ridley Athletic Complex. Herreweyers scored four goals, and Pat Spencer matched his career-high with six assists.

Loyola University Maryland men's lacrosse defeated Bucknell University, 14-3, on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Ridley Athletic Complex. Pat Spencer scored a goal and had six assists, and Jordan Germershausen tallied three goals. Jacob Stover made 12 saves and allowed just one goal in 49-plus minutes for Loyola.

2017 (Sophomore): Played in all 16 games on the Greyhounds’ second midfield… Finished with 13 goals and four assists for 17 points… Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll… Opened the year with two goals and an assist for a career-best three points against Virginia (2/11)… Scored once and had an assist at Johns Hopkins (2/18)… Tallied two goals at Lafayette (2/25)… Scored a career-high three goals against Holy Cross (3/4)… Picked up three ground balls and scored an extra-man goal against Navy (3/18)… Tallied a goal and an assist versus Lehigh (4/8).
2016 (Freshman): Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll… Appeared in all 18 games for the Greyhounds, starting the year as a short-stick defensive midfielder before becoming a key contributor on the second midfield unit… Scored six goals, had three assists and 15 ground balls during the season… Picked up two ground balls against Towson (3/2)… Scored his first collegiate goal at Navy (3/19)… Had a pair of ground balls at Georgetown (3/23)… Tallied a goal against Bucknell (3/26) and then had one at Lehigh to go with three ground balls against the Mountain Hawks (4/9)… Logged his first assist against Boston University (4/16)… Scored and had three ground balls against Army West Point (4/22)… Had assists in both Patriot League Championships games versus Bucknell (4/29) and Army West Point (5/1)… Scored off a face-dodge from the left side against Duke in the NCAA First Round (5/14)… Had a second-half goal against North Carolina in the NCAA Semifinals (5/28).
Before Loyola: Was a six-time letterman as a high school student-athlete at Jesuit High School (2011-13) and Lincoln High School (2013-2015) in Portland, Oregon... Earned four letters in lacrosse, two at each school and was a two-year letterwinner in football at Lincoln... Was a four-year All-Oregon player as selected by coaches in the Oregon High School Lacrosse Association (OHSLA)... Earned first team honors as a junior and senior, second team laurels as a sophomore and honorable mention as a freshman... Scored 222 goals and had 55 assists during his high school career... Tallied 51 goals and 14 assists as a freshman, 46 and 13 as a sophomore, 67 and 20 during his junior season and 58 and nine as a senior. His teams advanced to the state quarterfinals or semifinals each of his seasons... Helped Lincoln win the Three Rivers Conference title in 2015 as a senior, earning USLacrosse High School All-America and All-Three Rivers Conference First Team honors as a midfielder for the second-year in a row... Was also an All-Metro League First Team member as a freshman and sophomore at Jesuit... Played for the Under Armour Underclass All-America West Region team after his junior season and was a member of the West Coast Starz National Team that summer, as well... Played for the Adrenaline All-America North Team during his senior year... Helped the West Coast Starz win the NSCLA Tournament after his freshman season, scoring the game-winner in the title game... Was a two-year varsity football starter at Lincoln and earned All-Portland Interscholastic League First Team honors as a running back in 2014 as a senior.
Personal: John Edward Duffy... Born in Eugene, Oregon... Son of Shannon and E.J. Duffy... Has three brothers, Matt, Will and Patrick... His father, E.J., was a four-year starter for the University of Oregon football team... Will be the first player at Loyola to hail from the State of Oregon.
