Loyola University Maryland men's lacrosse defeated Bucknell University, 7-6, in double-overtime on Friday, April 29, 2016, in the Patriot League Semifinals.
Loyola University Maryland men's lacrosse got a goal from Zach Herreweyers with 9.9 seconds left in regulation to beat Boston University, 13-12, on Saturday, April 16, at Ridley Athletic Complex. Herreweyers scored four goals, and Pat Spencer matched his career-high with six assists.

Pat Spencer scored a goal and had six assists, and Jordan Germershausen tallied three goals. Jacob Stover made 12 saves and allowed just one goal in 49-plus minutes for Loyola.

2017 (Sophomore): Earned All-America Honorable Mention from Inside Lacrosse… Led the Patriot League and finished fourth in NCAA Division I in goals-against average (7.74) while starting all 16 games and playing more than 790 minutes between the pipes… Was second in the conference and 13th nationally in saves percentage (.547)… Allowed just 20 goals over Loyola’s last four contests of the year for a 5.00 goals against average… Averaged 10 saves in that stretch… Named Most Valuable Player of the Patriot League Championships after making 12 saves against both Holy Cross (4/28) and Army West Point (4/30) and allowing just three and four goals to the Greyhounds’ opponents, respectively… Also earned BSN Sports/USILA National Defensive Player of the Week honors following the tournament… Posted 14 saves at Johns Hopkins (2/18)… Tied his career-high with 16 saves, yielding only seven goals in the process, at Towson (3/1)… Had 10 saves and five goals allowed against Colgate (4/1)… Posted 12 saves in three-straight games, starting at Army West Point (4/21) to end the regular-season and continuing through the Patriot League Championship Game… Earned Corvias Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week recognition after giving up six goals against 12 saves to the Black Knights in the regular-season finale.
Before Loyola: Earned three letters in lacrosse at McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland... Named to the MIAA 'A' Conference All-Star First Team in 2015 and the All-Metro First Team... Helped McDonogh reach the MIAA final with a 14-5 record as a senior... Was an Athlete of the Week by The Baltimore Sun... Guided McDonogh to a 15-4 record in 2014... Made 380 saves as a high school player, 197 as a junior in 2014 and 183 the following year... Played to a sub-7.0 goals against average... Played club lacrosse for the Crabs and Baltimore Lacrosse Club... Named to the King of the Hill All-Star Team in 2013... Helped his club teams win the 2013 King of the Hill and Crab City Challenge, as well as the 2015 Vail Tournament.
Personal: Jacob Matthew Stover... Born in Round Rock, Texas... Son of Debbie and Matt Stover... Has an older sister, Jenna, who is a lacrosse player at Messiah College, and a younger brother, Joe... Was a member of McDonogh's honor roll each of his eight terms at the school... Was a McDonogh School Senior Student Leader for the FCA Club in 2015... Father, Matt, was an All-Pro kicker and Super Bowl Champion for the Baltimore Ravens... The elder Stover played 19 years in the National Football League for the Cleveland Browns, Ravens and Indianapolis Colts... At the time of the younger Stover's freshman year at Loyola, Matt Stover was ranked sixth all-time in the NFL with 2,004 points scored.
