The Loyola men's lacrosse team took on the US National Team Sunday, Jan. 27 at ESPN's Wide World of Sports at Disney

2012 (Redshirt Junior): Started all 19 games on the Greyhounds first midfield line... Finisehd tied for third on the team with 14 assists... Also scored 11 goals and was sixth on the Greyhounds with 25 total points... Matched his career-high with three assists in the NCAA Championship Game against Maryalnd (5/28)... Scored two goals and totaled four assists during the NCAA Tournament, recording goals against Canisius (5/12) and Denver (5/12) and adding an assist in the NCAA Semifianl against Notre Dame (5/26)... Tallied three points, two goals and an assist, in the ECAC Championship Game versus Fairfield (5/5)... Scored a goal and assisted on two more versus Johns Hopkins (4/28)... Scored twice nad had two ground balls against Air Force (3/17)... Set a career-high with three assists at Michigan (3/7).

2011 (Junior): Did not participate in a game and received a non-competing redshirt season.

2010 (Sophomore at UNC):Played 14 games, starting two... Scored five goals and recorded two assists... Goals came against Lehigh (2/20), Johns Hopkins (4/3), Ohio State (5/8) and two against No. 12 Delaware (5/16)... Collected seven ground balls and cause one turnover...

2009 (Freshman at UNC): Played in 15 games as one of North Carolina's top short-stick defensive middies... Collected 11 ground balls and caused two turnovers... Scored a goal against Detroit Mercy (3/3)... had four ground balls against Detroit Mercy (3/3) and three ground balls in a 14-7 win over Providence (3/11).

Before Loyola: Was ranked as the No. 34 recruit in the country in the senior class of 2008 by Inside Lacrosse magazine while playing at Malvern Prep in Malvern, Pa.... Played midfield on the lacrosse team for four years and was a running back on the football team for four years...Earned lacrosse co-MVP honors twice... Led lacrosse squad to a Pennsylvania state title in 2006... Helped the lacrosse team win the 2005, 2007 and 2008 Inter-Ac league titles and the football team take league titles in 2005 and 2007... Personal:Christopher Cusack Layne is the son of Steve and Felicia Layne... Is the middle child of five siblings, including brothers Glenn, Steve, and Andrew, and sister, Catherine... Brother Steve starred at Loyola, playing defense from 2007-2010, earning All-ECAC First Team honors and was named the team's Most Valuable Player in 2010 while serving as co-captain... He is now the program's Director of Lacrosse Operations.
