2017 (Sophomore): Earned All-Patriot League Second Team honors in his first year with the Greyhounds after finishing second on the team in all three scoring categories… Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll… Tallied 24 goals, 20 assists and 44 points while starting all 16 games on attack… His assist total ranked seventh in the Patriot League… Made his Loyola debut with a team-best five points on two goals and three assists against Virginia (2/11)… Followed that performance with two goals and an assist against Johns Hopkins (2/18)… Had multi-point in the Greyhounds’ first five games of the year and scored one or more point in 14 of 16 contests… Scored twice and had four assists against Holy Cross (3/4)… Posted a goal to go with three assists against Navy (3/18)… Scored three times and assisted on another goal at Bucknell (3/25)… Scored twice in each of the Greyhounds’ next three games against Colgate (4/1), Lehigh (4/8) and at Boston University (4/15)… Had a goal and two assists at Army West Point (4/21)… Scored three times and had two assists versus Holy Cross in the Patriot League Semifinals (4/28).
2016 (Freshman at North Carolina): Played in seven games for the National Champion Tar Heels… Recorded an assist and a ground ball…Made his collegiate debut against Furman (2/13)… Picked up a ground ball at Johns Hopkins (2/28)… Logged his first collegiate point with an assist at Manhattan (3/14).
Before College: Graduated from St. Paul’s High School in Brooklandville, Maryland… Named the Alphonse Kelly Memorial Award winner as the best midfielder in the State of Maryland… Named to the USA Today All-America First Team Was an All-Metro First Team selection by The Baltimore Sun in 2016 and also earned All-MIAA First Team honors… Led St. Paul’s to the MIAA title in 2014 and semifinals in 2015… Was an Under Armour All-American.
Personal: Son of Kelly and Chris McGovern… Has a younger sister, Ashlyn… Volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and was an honor roll student at St. Paul’s.
