Northern Intercollegiate Begins Sunday For Golfers
The Loyola University Maryland golf team will participate in the Northern Intercollegiate this weekend at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois.
The event will feature 36 holes on Sunday and 18 holes on Monday. Sunday has a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m., while Monday will be tee times, starting at 7:45 a.m.
“We are looking to build off of our strong season opener,” head coach Chris Baloga said. “Rich Harvest Farms hosted the NCAA finals this past year and gave the best teams in the country a fit. This will be a challenging event at a tough course with great competition, so it will be a test to see what we are made of at this early point in the season.”
Twelve Universities will be competing: Eastern Kentucky, Grand Canyon, Illinois State, Iowa State, Louisiana-Monroe, Marquette, Michigan, NIC, Purdue, Virginia and Wisconsin, in addition to the Greyhounds.
Loyola’s lineup will consist of seniors Ethan Wall, Brendan Peel and Bennett Wisner, junior Erick Alonso and freshman Brandon Berry.
Up next, the Greyhounds will travel to North Carolina to participate in the NC State Fall Invitational beginning on Monday, Oct. 2.
