Three Greyhounds, Golfers Under Par Following Two Rounds Of Wolfpack Intercollegiate
RALEIGH, N.C. - Three Greyhounds and the Loyola University Maryland golf team all finished Monday’s first two rounds of the Wolfpack Intercollegiate at Lonnie Poole Golf Course at under par.
Entering tomorrow’s final round, sophomore Preston Ball is tied for fourth at 4-under 140 (69-71), while seniors Ethan Wall and Brendan Peel are tied for 16th at 1-under 143. Wall turned in a 73 and a 70, respectively, while Peel shot 72 through the first round and a 71 through the second.
Junior Erick Alonso is fourth for the Greyhounds and tied for 35th overall with a 2-over 146, while freshman Brett Inserra is 58th at 9-over 153 (75-78).
As a team, the Greyhounds are fourth after turning in matching round scores of 286 for an aggregate score of 4-under 572. NC State and North Caroline lead the team race at 16-under 560, while Campbell is third with a 10-under 566. Loyola holds a 10-stroke advantage over East Carolina and James Madison, which are tied for fifth at 6-over 582.
NC State’s Stephen Franken leads the team race with a 13-under 131, followed by George Washington’s Logan Lowe at 6-under 138 and UNC’s Austin Hitt at 5-under 139.
The Greyhounds will return to the course Tuesday morning for an 8:45 a.m. tee time. Loyola will play the final round with East Carolina and James Madison.
