FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Loyola University Maryland golf team finished the first 36 holds of the Cobra-PUMA Invitational in 11th place. The Greyhounds carded a 10-over 298 through the first round and shaved five strokes off that score for a 5-over 293 for the second round. Entering tomorrow's third round, Loyola has a team score of 591.

Sophomore Brian McCormick, making his debut as a Greyhound, led Loyola with a 2-under 142 through the two rounds. He shot a 2-under 70 on his first trip through the course and followed that up with an even 72. He sits tied for 12th entering the final round.

Sophomore Bart George is second for Loyola with a 1-over 145. George is tied for 22nd overall with round scores of 71 and 74, respectively.

Freshman Fletcher Sokul, making his collegiate debut, finished his first round with a 4-over 76. He shaved five strokes off that score to finish the second round at 1-under 71. Through the two rounds, he has carded a 3-over 147 and sits tied for 31st overall.

Junior Brendan Lemp and senior Cameron Liebert round out the Greyhounds competing this weekend, as the duo rank tied for 72nd with a 13-over 157. Both players shot identical round scores of 81 and 76, respectively.

Florida Gulf Coast University, the tournament hosts, lead the teams with an 18-under 558, while Penn State is second at 6-under 570 and Bethune-Cookman is third with an aggregate score of 4-under 572.

Individually, Marshall's Nathan Kerns leads the way with a 9-under 135. FGCU's Edward Figueroa is second at 8-under 136 and his teammate, Jack Hernandez, is third at 7-under 137.

The Greyhounds will return to the course tomorrow morning for a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m.
