Greyhounds Finish First Round Of NCAA Regional

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Loyola University Maryland golf team shot a 13-over 301 in the opening round of the 2013 NCAA Tallahassee Regional at Golden Eagle Country Club on Thursday.
Sophomore Bart George led the Greyhounds through the opening round, shooting an even 72 to sit tied for 41st overall. Classmate Brian McCormick carded a 3-over 75 and is tied for 55th entering the second round, while senior Jon Ross is tied for 60th at 4-over 76.
No. 19 North Florida leads the team competition with a 16-under 272, while No. 6 Washington is second at 12-under 276 and No. 14 Florida State is third at 11-under 277.
Individually, North Florida’s MJ Maguire, ranked 24th nationally, leads the way with a 7-under 65. Georgia Tech’s Anders Albertson and Florida State’s Chase Seiffert are tied for second at 6-under 66 and Washington’s Cheng-Tsung Pan and Oklahoma’s Abraham Ancer are tied for fourth at 5-under 67.
Loyola will return to action Friday, teeing off at 9:45 a.m.
