Greyhounds Tied For Fifth After 18 Holes At Navy

Annapolis, Md. - Freshman Chris Derby shot par on Day One of the Navy Spring Invitational, leading the Greyhounds into a fifth-place tie at the Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, Md. Loyola, which scored a 305 on Saturday, is 14 strokes off the pace heading into Sunday's final round.
Derby is tied for third overall with his 71 while senior T.J. Shuart is tied for 23rd with his first-round score of 76. Freshman Matt Bassler fired a 78 while Will Shriver and David Atkinson round out Loyola's scoring with Day One rounds of 80 and 83.
Guilford leads the 20-team field with a team total of 291 while George Washington and St. Bonaventure round out the top three. The Greyhounds are tied with Bucknell and Boston College.
Sunday, final round on the par-71 6,556-yard course begins at 8 a.m.
