Men's Golf Completes Day One At Cowboy Classic

Scottsdale, Ariz. - The Loyola men's golf team scored rounds of 302 and 299 and after Day One at the 2004 Cowboy Classic, the Greyhounds sit in 18th place with a team total of 601. UCLA leads the tournament heading into Tuesday's final round at Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
T.J. Shuart recorded Loyola's best round of the tournament, scoring a 72 in his second round to complete the day with a 36-hole score of 148. Freshman Will Shriver, who shot rounds of 73 and 75 also has a 148 heading into the final round.
Also scoring for the 'Hounds, Scott Zielinski fired a 152 while both Jeff O'Brien and David Atkinson posted scores of 156. UCLA, Idaho and Boise State head the field with the Bruins shooting a tournament-best 550.
The final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday with a shotgun start slated for 8 a.m. local time.
