April 3, 2005
Westover, Md. - Senior T.J. Shuart fired rounds of 71 and 73 to lead Loyola to a team title at the Drew Upton Golf Classic in Westover. Md. Shuart, who claimed the individual championship, propelled the Greyhounds to their second title of the season with the third medalist performance of his collegiate career.
"It was a tremendous team effort this weekend," says Loyola Golf Coach Tom Beidleman. "The result was very rewarding against a very strong field that featured the top teams in our District. We played very well."
Freshman Chris Derby tied for third overall with round of 75 and 73 to finish with a 36-hole score of 148. Will Shriver and Matt Bassler each posted two-day totals of 153 while David Atkinson scored a 155 to give Loyola a true team victory.
