Golfers Remain In Third After Two Rounds Of Pinehurst Intercollegiate

PINEHURST, N.C. - The Loyola University Maryland men’s golf team completed the second round of the Pinehurst Intercollegiate on this year’s US Open course, Pinehurst No. 2, in third place on Monday afternoon. The Greyhounds enter tomorrow’s third round with a two-round score of 27-over 307 and are nine strokes behind the leader, UNCG, by 19 strokes.
Freshman Matt Oshrine bettered his day one performance with a 4-over 74 on day two, the best round of the day for the Greyhounds, and is now tied for 17th overall. Junior Bart George also dropped his score on day two, finishing the round with a 5-over 75, and now is tied for 12th overall.
UNCG now leads the team standings with a two-round score of 591 after shooting a 9-over 289 on day two. Belmont finished the day in second with a round of 302 and sits with a 601 after two days of play.
Eastern Kentucky junior Patric Sandolf tied for second today with a 71 and is the tournament’s individual leader with a 3-over 144. Roy Dixon led UNCG today, shooting a par round of 70, the low-round of the day and is second overall, while Richmond’s Danny Pizetoski is third at 4-over 145.
The Greyhounds return to the course tomorrow for the third and final round of the tournament.
