Nov. 18, 2013

BALTIMORE -

Chancellor Barnard

Loyola University Maryland men's basketball has signed three student-athletes to National Letters of Intent, and the trio will form the Greyhounds' Class of 2018, Head Coach G.G. Smith announced today.

Chancellor Barnard (Columbia, Md./Glenelg Country School), Colton Bishop (Winston-Salem, N.C./Forsyth Country Day School) and Cam Gregory (Waldorf, Md./St. Stephens and St. Agnes School) will join the Loyola program in the fall.

"We are very excited to welcome Chancellor, Colton and Cam to the Greyhound family," Smith said. "They have shown that they are great players and better people who we are looking forward to joining our program. All three are honor roll students in high school who have shown a great deal of dedication in and out of the classroom."

Barnard is a local product from Howard County, Md., who helped Glenelg Country win the 2011 MIAA "B" Conference title. As a junior in 2012-2013, Barnard averaged 13 points and seven rebounds per game as a combo guard; he also led the Dragons in field-goal percentage, blocked shots, steals and free-throw percentage.

During the 2012-2013 season, Barnard had a six-game stretch in which he averaged 15.8 points per game against MIAA `A' Conference opponents, including outings with 19 and 17 points against eventual A-Conference regular-season champion St. Frances Academy.

Colton Bishop

Bishop has been a standout point guard at Forsyth Country Day in North Carolina where he averaged 17 points, seven assists, four rebounds and two steals per game as a junior last season. He enters his senior season with 888 career points for the Furies.

He earned All-Northwest North Carolina and NCISAA 3A All-Conference honors in 2013, and he is the two-time Most Valuable Player of the Frank Spencer Holiday Classic Pepsi Bracket.

Cam Gregory

Gregory led the Interstate Athletic Conference (IAC) in scoring and rebounding during his junior season in 2012-2013, averaging 16.7 points and 10 rebounds per game at St. Stephen and St. Agnes School (SSSA) in Northern Virginia. He earned All-Met Honorable Mention from The Washington Post after posting more than 10 double-doubles for the Saints.

He was an All-Virginia (VISAA) Second Team honoree while earning SSSA's Most Outstanding Athlete award as a junior. Gregory helped SSSA win a pair of preseason tournaments - the Potomac Tip-Off Tournament and the Boys Latin Invitational - and he also earned All-Tournament honors at the 2013 Sleepy Thompson Invitational.
