Patsos Joins Loyola In Celebrating Adams' HOF Induction

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Loyola University Maryland Head Coach Jimmy Patsosjoined others from the school in celebrating the induction of Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Jen Adams to the University of Maryland's Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday evening.

Adams, who became the all-time leading scorer in NCAA history while playing at Maryland from 1998-2001, will also be inducted to the USLacrosse Hall of Fame later this month.

Patsos coached at Maryland on Gary Williams' staff for 14 years, including during the time Adams was a student-athlete at the school and later an assistant coach.

Adams joined her former head coach, Cindy Timchal, in addition to Tom Bradley, Juan Dixon, Sarah Forbes, Leonard Rodman, Carla Tagliente and Paul Vellano as the 2012 induction class.

A three-time national player of the year and the first women's recipient of the Tewaaraton Trophy in 2001, Adams set every scoring record - season and career at Maryland - finishing with 267 goals, 178 assists and 445 points. In addition, she set single-season marks for goals, assists and points as a junior, then broke her own marks as a senior (81 goals, 55 assists, 136 points).

Adams was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American as a senior, while she also won the Honda/Broderick Award for women's lacrosse in 2000 and 2001 and was the Atlantic Coast Conference's Female Athlete of the Year as a junior and senior.

A native of Australia, Adams also played for the Australian National Team in 2001, 2005 and 2009 and earned All-World honors twice. She will be inducted into the US Lacrosse National Hall of Fame in September.

At Loyola, Adams recently finished her fourth-year as the head coach. She has led the Greyhounds to back-to-back BIG EAST Conference titles and two-straight trips to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championships.
