June 12, 2014

SEVERN, Md. - Four members of the Loyola University Maryland men's basketball program took part in the "6:30 initiative" Thursday at Van Bokkelen Elementary School in Anne Arundel County, reading to kindergarten and first grade students.

Junior Tyler Hubbard, sophomore Josh Forney and former player Jordan Latham joined assistant coach Dan Ficke at the event.

The school's "6:30 Initiative" is part of a program that emphasizes the importance of reading, especially at a young age. It encourages parents to turn off the television and video games and read with their children for 30 minutes every evening.
