CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Loyola University Maryland senior Andre Walker was named to the All-Patriot League First Team for the second year in a row, and sophomore Andrew Kostecka became the first Greyhounds player to garner Patriot League All-Defensive Team recognition, the League announced on Monday.

The players were selected by voting by the Patriot League's 10 head coaches.

Walker is one of 23 players to be a three-time All-Patriot League honoree. In addition to his first team recognition last year, Walker was a member of the second team as a sophomore in 2015-16.

Kostecka finished the 2017-2018 regular-season ranked second in the Patriot League in steals per game and third in blocked shots per contest.

Entering the Patriot League Championships - the Greyhounds host the U.S. Military Academy in a first-round game on Tuesday, February 27, at 7 p.m. - Walker is near the top of several career statistical categories at Loyola.

He is eighth in points scored (1,646), tied for second in 3-pointers made (211), second in steals (193), tied for fifth in assists (386), 13th in field goals made (531) and 26th in rebounds (449).

This season, Walker leads Loyola with 15.6 points per game, a mark that ranks fifth in the Patriot League. He was third in the conference in scoring during conference games after averaging 17.7 points in 18 League games.

Over the course of his career, Walker has scored 10 or more points on 84 occasions, including 17 this year. He has 20 games with 20 or more points, eight coming in 2017-2018 with a career-high of 43 points on January 14 in a win over Lafayette College. In 72 career Patriot League regular-season games over four years, Walker averaged 14.9 points for a total of 1,073 against conference foes.

Kostecka has been a disruptive defensive player throughout the season with results that have shined in the statistics. He enters the Patriot League Championships ranked 23rd in NCAA Division I with 2.1 steals per game, a total that is second in the conference.

Despite missing five games due to injury, Kostecka's 50 steals and 28 blocked shots lead the Greyhounds. He is also fourth on the team with a 10.6 points per game average.
