Jones '16 Signs Professional Contact In Germany
BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland men's basketball alum Jarred Jones has signed a professional contract and will join the German team CityBasket Recklinhausen for the home stretch of the Regional League.
Jones earned All-Patriot League Second Team recognition as a senior in 2016-17 after averaging 14.7 points and 6.5 rebounds while starting all 33 games.
CityBasket Recklinhausen is 9-8 this season in the league's West Division.
Jones. who graduated from Loyola in 2016 and returned last year for his final season of eligibility, averaged more than 13 points per game in each his last two years at Loyola - he posted marks of 13.3 points and 7.2 rebound sin 2015-16. He finished his career as one of two players in school history to have more than 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 100 steals, 100 assists and 100 blocked shots.
Over four years - Jones played two games in 2014-15 before suffering a season-ending injury - the Havre de Grace, Maryland native recorded 1,188 points, 622 rebounds, 140 assists, 135 steals and 125 blocked shots. He is 26th all-time at Loyola in scoring, 12th in rebounds, third in blocked shots and 10th in steals.
