Jan. 17, 2012
BALTIMORE - Loyola University Maryland head men's basketball coach Jimmy Patsos has directed the Greyhounds to their best start in their 31-year history in NCAA Division I, going 12-5 through their first 17 games of 2011-2012.
Earlier this season, Patsos won his 100th game as the coach of the Greyhounds, becoming just the third coach in school history to reach the plateau.
Patsos took over the reigns of the Loyola program in April 2003, a month after the team completed the 2002-2003 season with a 1-27 record. With his 100th win on November 17, 2011, Patsos became just the second coach in the last 20 years of Division I basketball to win 100 games at a school after taking over a team that had earned just one victory the previous season.
