WEST POINT, N.Y. - A Dylon Cormier 3-pointer with five minutes remaining cut the U.S. Military Academy's one-time 13-point lead to one, but the Black Knights held off the Greyhounds for a 91-82 Patriot League win on Sunday afternoon in Christl Arena.

Cormier, who scored a game-high 27 points hit his only three of the game, out of six attempts, with the shot, but it pulled Loyola (6-7 overall, 1-1 Patriot League) to within 73-72.

Army (6-7, 2-0) had led by 13, 58-45, at 16:01 on a Larry Toomey tip=in, but Loyola chipped away at the deficit.

Down 64-53 with 11:53 on the clock, Loyola went on an 11-2 run over nearly five minutes, and Cormier's layup at 7:15 made it a two-point game, 66-64.

Army responded 10 seconds later, however, as Tanner Plomb converted a traditional 3-point play, making a layup and a free throw.

Cormier contributed a pair of free throws on Loyola's next possession, but Dylan Cox hit a runner with 6:03 left, making it 71-66 Army.

Eric Laster banked in a three from the top of the perimeter for Loyola, and after a Kyle Wilson jumper at 5:29, Cormier hit his three to cut the Black Knights' deficit to one.

Later in the half, Josh Herbeck hit a three for Army with the shot clock winding down, pushing its advantage to six, but Franz Rassman converted a layup and free throw at 1:44, and it was an 80-77 Army lead.

The Black Knights came back with seven of the next eight points, as Mo Williams gave them a nine-point advantage with 24 ticks on the clock.

Five Army players scored 10 or more, led by Wilson's team-high 18. Cox tallied 17, and Kevin Ferguson scored 15 and had nine rebounds.

R.J. Williams scored a career-high 14 points for the Greyhounds, making 5-of-9 shots; he also had six steals. Rassman finished with 12 points and eight rebounds, and Laster had 13 points.
