SHANE JAMES enters his fourth season as the Greyhounds' starting point guard, having started 73 of 84 games over the previous three seasons ... career numbers have been consistent over his three years and will need to improve them to take Loyola one step further in his final season ... not flashy, but a mature, steadying influence on the court which will help with the new influx of players playing their first full season under Coach Patsos ... will be playing with his fourth new backcourt partner in four seasons (2002-03, Charlie Bell; 2003-04, Brad Farrell; 2004-05, Andre Collins; 2005-06, Gerald Brown).

2005-06 Opened the season starting in 17 straight games and finished with 21 starts in the 28 games ... season-high came in win at Delaware (Dec. 31), pouring in 24 points on 7-10 shooting from the floor and 10-12 shooting from the free-throw line in 31 minutes ... also handed out six assists and grabbed five rebounds in that game ... that outing capped a stretch where he scored in double-figures in five of nine games as the Greyhounds started the season 7-2 ... he shot 46.7 percent from the floor (28-60) and 75.7 percent from the line (28-37) while tabulating 34 assists during that nine-game span ... later added 17 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in 37 minutes in a win at Canisius (Jan. 12) ... was the team's leading rebounder twice from the point guard spot, including matching his career-high with nine against Siena (Feb. 2) ... added nine points and seven assists while playing 35 minutes in that outing ... came off the bench to score 10 points and grab six rebounds in MAAC Tournament loss to Canisius (Mar. 3).

2004-05 Played in 28 games, starting 25 at point guard ... for the second straight year, led the team with exactly 81 assists ... finished third in scoring average with 9.6 points per game ... also had a team-high 34 steals .. scored a career-high 27 points in win over Niagara (Dec. 5) to give Coach Patsos his first career win ... also had a season-high eight rebounds in the win ... recorded double-digit points in six straight games in late January and then added three more in a row in mid-February (all Greyhounds victories), culminating with a 19-point effort in home win over Iona (Feb. 12) ... was 9-9 from the free-throw line and added six assists in that game ... the six assists matched his then-career high, a number he also reached earlier in the season at the Gaels (Jan. 24) ... finished the season with 17 double-digit scoring nights, including 10-plus points in five of the six Loyola wins.

2003-04 Started a season-high 27 times while playing in all 28 contests ... named to MAAC's all-rookie team at season's end ... team leader in assists (81) and three-point field-goal percentage (.405) and was second in scoring (8.4 ppg) ... went 3-5 from the floor, including 2-3 from three-point range, and was a perfect 3-3 from the free-throw line to score 11 points in his collegiate debut against Maryland-Baltimore County (Nov. 21) ... scored 16 points against Towson (Nov. 29) in his Reitz Arena debut ... had three straight games with 10-plus points to end December and opened his career with double-figures in scoring in six of his first nine games ... posted then career-high 17-point outing in back-to-back games vs. Niagara (Jan. 16) and Canisius (Jan. 18) ... grabbed nine rebounds against the Golden Griffins to establish a career high ... tallied 14 points in game prior to give him 16-point average over the three-game span while shooting 56 percent from the floor (14-25) ... after not starting and playing only 14 minutes at Manhattan (Jan. 23), came back and played all 40 minutes at Fairfield two days later (Jan. 25) ... handed out five assists and grabbed five rebounds in that game ... only time in his career he has played every minute.

Before Loyola Two-year member of the Canadian Junior National Team ... served as team captain during his second season ... averaged 18 points, six rebounds and four assists per game ... played basketball, rugby and volleyball in high school ... averaged 27 points per game during his senior campaign ... also recorded a quadruple-double during his senior year ... shot 48 percent from the field and 49 percent from three-point range ... earned all-Canadian honors ... named to Toronto Star/Sun All-Star squad as a junior and senior.
