JAMAL BARNEY enters his senior season having led the Greyhounds in scoring during both of his two years at Loyola ... he needs just 105 points to reach 1,000 for his career and 136 points to reach 1,000 in a Loyola uniform ... led the MAAC in scoring as a sophomore (18.1 ppg) and was named to the All-MAAC Second Team by the conference's coaches ... his scoring dropped off as a junior, but he still contributed five efforts of 20 points or more ... started just four games as he was used primarily as a weapon off the bench ... scored in double figures in all of his December and January appearances and ended the season averaging 18.3 points over the final four games ... erupted in January 2009 with two 40-point games over a 12-day span becoming the only Greyhounds player in history to reach 40 points twice in a career ... those efforts are only the fourth and fifth performances of 40 or more points in 100 seasons of Loyola basketball ... he established school records for free throws made (18) and attempted (22) during his 40-point outing against New Jersey Institute ... uses his length and jumping ability to disrupt offenses and turn steals into easy baskets ... another player who turned to the Greyhounds when making the decision to return to his Baltimore-area roots.

2009-2010
Led the Greyhounds in scoring for a second consecutive season (12.6 ppg) ... started just four games and missed six games during January ... his February return was slow, but he ended the season averaging 18.3 points and 6.8 rebounds over the final four games ... tallied in double figures in every game from late November to early January, a stretch of 10 straight ... included among those was a 28-point outburst in just 21 minutes in the home win over Howard (Dec. 19) ... he missed just three shots from the field (11-14) while making three of his four three-point attempts and handing out four assists during the contest and was named the MAAC Player of the Week for his efforts ... responded to his first starting role with his third career double-double, posting 18 points and 11 rebounds at Niagara (Dec. 06) ... came off the bench to score 21 points in 22 minutes at UMBC (Nov. 18), scoring 14 of those in the second half including a layup with 11 seconds left to seal the road win ... his assist on teammate Brett Harvey's four-point play gave Loyola the lead for good with 1:51 remaining in the win at Indiana (Dec. 22) ... he joined Harvey as the only Greyhounds with double-digit scoring (13 points) against the five-time National Champion Hoosiers in what is the biggest regular-season victory in the 100-year history of the program ... ended the regular season with 20 points and eight rebounds against Canisius (Feb. 26) and 24 points and nine rebounds in a win over Manhattan (Feb. 28), making nine field goals in each contest ... tallied 13 points with seven boards in a rematch later that week against the Jaspers in the MAAC Championship.

2008-2009
Made his mark early by leading the MAAC in scoring (18.1 ppg) and being named All-MAAC Second Team in his first season with the Greyhounds ... in addition to being the team leader in scoring, he collected the most steals (44) for the year, ranked second in rebounding (5.5 rpg) and finished third on the team in assists (40) and blocks (14) ... did not start the first four games of the season or the last two, but started all 26 in between ... scored 23 points in 24 minutes with seven rebounds in his first career start to lead Loyola to a win over James Madison (Nov. 24) ... recorded his first career double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds against Siena (Dec. 03) in his first MAAC appearance ... scored 20 or more in three straight in December as Greyhounds won two of three ... opened the New Year by making 15 of 19 from the floor and eight of nine free throws for a career-high 41 points in the win at Canisius (Jan. 03) ... it was just the fourth 40-point game in Loyola history and first since February 1957 ... less than two weeks later he established school records for free throws made (18) and attempted (22) en route to 40 points with eight rebounds against New Jersey Institute (Jan. 14), becoming just the second player in Greyhounds history with two 40-point outings ... followed that two nights later with 21 points on a career-topping four three-pointers and eight boards in a win at Manhattan (Jan. 16) ... closed the month with 26- and 28-point efforts in road wins at Marist (Jan. 25) and Rider (Jan. 30), respectively ... against the Red Foxes, he made all 10 of his free throws and scored the game-winning layup with 6.4 seconds remaining while adding eight rebounds ... he recorded another double-double during a home game with Canisius (Feb. 16), scoring 30 points while grabbing a career-best 11 rebounds ... four times he made 10 or more trips to the free-throw line and he averaged 31.0 points in those four games ... his 561 points scored tied for the 14th-best single season total in Greyhounds history and his 207 made field goals also ranked 14th all-time.

2007-2008
Sat out the entire season while establishing his residency following his transfer from Providence College ... practiced every day with team so he could learn the system and be ready to step right in when he became eligible.

2006-2007 (at Providence)
Appeared in 13 games for the Friars, averaging 2.4 points and 1.5 rebounds ... scored six points with three rebounds, two assists and two steals against Fairleigh Dickinson (Nov. 14) in first college game ... grabbed six rebounds with four assists in 23 minutes in home win over George Washington (Nov. 26) ... scored 13 points in just 16 minutes against Longwood (Jan. 2).

Before College
Averaged 28 points and six assists as a high school senior after scoring 26 points with six assists as a junior ... scored 58 points against Williamsport (Pa.) HS ... Southwestern captured the regional championship, but lost in the city championship during his senior season ... team was 64-8 during his three varsity seasons.
