2012-2013 (Graduate Student): Received his degree in communications at Loyola's May Commencement ceremonies and will use his fourth year of athletic eligibility this season.
2011-2012 (Redshirt Junior): Returned to the court after missing most of the 2010-2011 season due to injury and played in all 33 games making six starts... Averaged 3.2 points and 3.0 rebounds per game in 17.6 minutes of action per contest... Continued to show his versatility as he played all five positions on the court... Second on the team with 39 steals and also had 39 assists... Scored eight points and led the team with six rebounds off the bench against Florida Gulf Coast (11/27)... Posted a team-best eight rebounds at Mount St. Mary's (12/10)... Tallied eight points in just 15 minutes of action against Siena (1/19) and then had nine points and five rebounds and five assists three days later versus Saint Peter's (1/22)... Made a start and had five steals and six rebounds at Canisius (1/29) Ignited a late rally to overtake Manhattan (2/26) in the final regular-season game, scoring a season-high 12 points and grabbing a team-best eight rebounds... Six of those boards came on the offensive glass, and he also had three steals... With other post players in foul trouble early, came up big in the MAAC Championship Game against Fairfield (3/5), hitting two first-half 3-pointers from the corner... Had made just three from behind the arc, in 15 attempts, entering the game.
2010-2011 (Junior): Received a medical hardship waiver after his season was cut short after eight games due to injury... Made five starts in the first eight games of the season... Scored 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting and 3-of-4 form the free-throw line against Dartmouth (11/21)... Had three steals in back-to-back road games at Vermont (11/24) and Morgan State (11/29)... Pulled down five rebounds in his final game of the season, at George Mason (12/8).
2009-2010 (Sophomore): Was having a productive campaign until he was lost for the season in mid-January... Made 16 starts in 18 games played... Averaged 26.6 minutes and 7.3 points per game... Posted six double-digit scoring efforts as he improved his shooting percentage 14 points from his freshman season to 48.2-percent... Opened the year with a 16-point outing in the season-opening win over Vermont (11/13)... Two games later, he scored 14 points in a road win at UMBC (11/18)... Missed just two shots from the floor while taking eight and seven, respectively... Scored 13 points in the home win over Morgan State (12/01)... Drew the critical defensive assignment in being asked to guard Indiana's Maurice Creek, holding the prolific scorer to just nine points as the Greyhounds posted the biggest regular-season win in the history of the basketball program (12/22)... Scored just eight points, but collected a career-best six steals while contributing his usually consistent floor game... Followed that by matching his career-high with 17 points in the win at Bucknell (12/28)... His eye-popping three-game stretch ended in Loyola's home win over Rider to open the New Year (1/02)... Against the Broncs, he scored 12 points with seven rebounds while holding MAAC Preseason Player of the Year Ryan Thompson to 1-for-10 shooting... His final double-figure scoring outing came with his 13 points against Iona (1/11)... Played just 18 minutes the rest of the season.
2008-2009 (Freshman): Earned MAAC All-Rookie honors from the league's coaches after playing in 32 games, starting 18... Averaged 21.4 minutes per game, an average that went up significantly as the season progressed... Saw very limited time for the first four games of the season then ran off 14 straight starts beginning with the win over James Madison (11/24)... Made both his shots from the floor and grabbed four rebounds in the game... By the end of that week, he grabbed 11 rebounds, handed out three assists and collected four steals while playing 30 minutes in a game at Vermont (11/29)... Scored eight points with three assists and three steals in the win over Coppin State (12/10)... Did not score a point but hauled in seven rebounds and snatched three steals while holding North Carolina State's Brandon Costner scoreless in the first half against the Wolfpack (12/29)... Scored six points with eight rebounds, two assists and two steals in the win at Canisius (1/03)... Tallied eight points with seven rebounds against Fairfield (1/09)... Collected eight boards with three assists and two steals in just 13 minutes while suffering from flu-like symptoms in the win at Manhattan (1/16)... Made five of his seven shots from the floor and both his tries from the charity stripe to reach double figures for the first time in his career in scoring 12 points with six rebounds in the home finale with Rider (2/26)... Followed that with a career-best 17 points while making three of his four attempts from three-point range in the win at Iona (3/01)... Entered the game having made just two three-pointers total on the season... Ended season with six points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists in the MAAC Championship game with Canisius (3/06).
Before Loyola: Averaged 13.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists during his senior year at T.C. Williams HS ... the Titans posted a 29-3 final record and captured the Virginia AAA State Championship ... he was named the MVP of the Northern Region after scoring 24 points in the title game ... he totalled 33 points in the two state final contests ... named First Team all-Met by The Washington Post and was a second-team all-Virginia choice.
Personal: Anthony Tyrone Winbush Jr. is the son of Anthony and Michele Winbush ... has a sister Brittany ... his high school, T.C. Williams, is the one from the movie "Remember The Titans" starring Denzel Washington ... majoring in Communication-Public Relations/Digital Media at Loyola.
