He earned seven varsity letters, four in soccer and three in baseball. His final baseball season was cancelled when Loyola decided to drop the sport. He finished as one of the top ten scorers in Loyola soccer history, with 39 goals and 24 assists. In 1976, this multitalented competitor was an important part of Loyola's NCAA Division II champion soccer team. A team captain his junior and senior seasons, he earned All South recognition in 1977 and 1978. The Houston Summit of the Major Indoor Soccer League made him their third round choice in the 1979 MISL draft. A three time captain of the Loyola baseball squad, he earned the team's Most Valuable Player and first team All Mason-Dixon conference honors in 1977. A fine student, he was selected to Who's Who and won the Mohler Trophy in 1979.
