- INSIDE ATHLETICS
- FOR THE STUDENTS
The true definition of a student-athlete, Nattans was a two-sport performer (soccer, basketball) at Loyola, earned national Academic All-America honors from CoSIDA in both 1988 and 1989 and was awarded a prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship in 1989. A four-year starter on defense for Loyola soccer teams that reached the NCAA tournament twice, he was nearly always assigned to the opposition's main offensive threat. Known for his long, accurate throw-ins, he also had two career goals and seven career assists. A reserve guard and 1988-89 co-captain on the Greyhound basketball team, Nattans was one of a handful of athletes nationally to play two major Division I sports. A Baltimore native and graduate of Calvert Hall, "Goose" also attended Harvard University's Graduate School of Business Administration and played soccer professionally for the Maryland Bays from 1990-93.
