Mary Ella was a fine two-sport athlete in the 1970's. She excelled in both basketball and volleyball, earning seven varsity letters in two sports. A four-year starter for the Lady Greyhound basketball team, she was one of four players during the late 1970's to score over 1,000 career points. At the time of her induction the talented point guard ranked among the top five scorers in Loyola women's basketball history. She tallied 1,067 points during her career. She earned MAIAW All-Tournament and All-State honors. She also lettered for three years on the Loyola volleyball team, where she earned Most Valuable Player and All-Maryland Tournament honors. She was elected to Who's Who and also received the Student Service Award in her senior year.
