Gormley was one of the most complete players in Loyola basketball history. He scored 1,497 points, corralled 310 rebounds, and handed out 386 assists while leading the Greyhounds to four consecutive winning seasons from 1983-87. Gormley was the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Year in 1983-84, and earned second-team All-Conference honors in his senior season of 1986-87. At the time of his induction he ranked sixth among Loyola career scores. He also held seven school records, including most career steals (266) and best single-season three-point percentage (48.9, 1986-87).
