Nap was co-captain of the basketball team with Edmund Kowalewski. During his senior year, he was always a consistent scorer. He became a member of the All--Mason--Dixon Conference Basketball Squad. Ed was the second highest scorer for 51-52, hitting 344 pts. for an average of 14.2 points per game. Nap hails from Brooklyn, NY where he attended St. Joseph's Prep. He spent twelve (12) seasons as the basketball coach. "His finest hour" is considered in 1971 when he coached the Greyhounds to their first Mason-Dixon title since he closed out his playing career in 1953. Nap inherited the squad from Reitz in 1961-62 season and since then compiled a lifetime record of 164-153. At the time of his induction he was the eighth highest scorer. While at Loyola, he was the Assistant Athletic Director and Director of Intramurals.
