Dodd made his mark on the basketball court. He was the starting center for the Greyhounds from 1953-57. He earned all-state recognition in his junior and senior years. Dodd was a first-team All-Mason Dixon Conference choice in 1956-57, when he averaged 16.9 points and led the Greyhounds to a 17-9 record. At the time of his induction he held the Loyola single-game record for most field goals with 20.
